TREDYFFRIN DEMOCRATS ENDORSE TWO FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER; HOST REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR SCHOOL BOARD

The Tredyffrin Township Democratic Committee voted Wednesday to endorse two candidates in the race for Chester County Commissioner, selecting Ken Knickerbocker and Ginny McMichael as the two candidates who the local party would recommend to voters this year. The vote took place at the group's regular monthly meeting.

All four of the Democratic candidates running for the two county commissioner positions have attended a special session of the local Democratic party leadership to make their case and answer questions.

"People who live in Tredyffrin Township are beginning to focus on the county commissioner race this year, and we want to provide voters in the township with our view as they consider all the candidates," said Maria Micolucci, Committee Chair. "We are fortunate to have four excellent Democratic candidates running for commissioner this year, but we believe Ken and Ginny are the most qualified and will do an excellent job leading our county forward."

At this week's meeting the local Democratic Committee also hosted three Republican candidates for school board - Kevin Mahoney, Kevin Grewell and Deborah Bookstaber - who spoke about their campaigns and answered questions from the local Democratic leadership. Micolucci pointed out that the candidates' names would appear on Democratic ballots in next month.s primary election as they had cross-filed and should therefore have the chance to address the group.

"It is our responsibility to give voters in our township the best information about all the candidates, and since these individuals will be on the Democratic ballot we felt it was important to give them a forum to discuss their views on issues relating to the school board," she said.
